چهره مرد هنرمند در جوانی A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man، نام داستانی بسیار مشهور از نویسنده ایرلندی، جیمز جویس است.
او در این کتاب، زندگی پسری بنام «استیون ددالوس» را از دو سالگی تا بیست سالگی، به داستان می آورد و او را در موقعیتهای مختلف قرار میدهد. از جمله مسائلی که بعنوان تعارضات روحی قهرمان داستان مطرح میشود، ترس، خدا، کودکی و ایرلند است.
این کتاب که از دیدگاه منتقدین مقدمه کتاب «اولیس» جویس James Joyce است، بعنوان بهترین نمونه رمان تکامل شخصیت، توصیه میشود.

کتاب Roald Dahl The Giraffe and The Pelly and Me رمان انگلیسی زرافه و پلی و من، در مورد شرکت نظافتی بدون نردبان است که در آن یک زرافه، پلیکان، میمون به همراه پسر جوانی به نام بیلی پنجره ها را تمیز می کنند. آنها به سطل  نیاز ندارند، زیرا پلیکانی با منقاری به اندازه سطل دارند، با وجود میمونی که شستن را انجام می دهد و زرافه ای که کار نردبان را انجام می دهد و در نهایت بیلی که به عنوان مدیر آنهاست مقدر شده که در این تجارت  موفق شوند. اکنون آنها فرصت بزرگی برای تمیز کردن 677 پنجره خانه همپشایر دارند که متعلق به ثروتمندترین مرد در کل انگلستان است! این به اندازه کافی هیجان انگیز است، اما در طول مسیر شگفتی ها و ماجراهایی فراتر از  رویاهای شستشوی پنجره وجود دارد.
